DIVING SERVICE

Operatec LDA – Engineering & Services was formed in March 1996 by Alton W. Ray and a group of local Angolan partners, initially to assist in the development and execution of infrastructure projections in Angola. The company has participated in many notable projects throughout Angola in addition to being the first to import buses, heavy vehicles, and construction equipment.

In 2009, Operatec secured a long-term IRM contract with Chevron – CABGOC (Cabinda Gulf Oil Company) to provide Air and Mix gas Diving Services in Block 0 and Block 14.
Operatec has been able to retain the contract to date.

Milestones:

2009- Awarded IRM contract- Mobilize DSV Canning Tide.
2010- Mobilize Second DSV- GF. 29
2011- Awarded Saturation Campaign- Mobilize SOV Ullswater in partnership with Hallin Marine.
2012-Secured and received Three IMCA class surface supplied mixed gas diving systems.
2014- Awarded the ‘President’s recognition for accomplishments in Safety and Environment’.
2015- Re-awarded IRM Contract with Chevron.
2017-2018- Demolish entire -50ft compromised conductor bay.
2019- Awarded Saturation Campaign- Campaign cancelled due to Covid pandemic.
2020- Re-awarded IRM contract with Chevron.
2021- Mobilize DSV Zwerver 1 (DP II)
23 656 Hr dive time without DAFW.

Diving Services since May 2009 – To date:

Inspection:

API L2 & L3 GVI, CVI and MPI on structure members, risers, and pipelines. under the Guidance of a 3.4u Inspection Coordinator
FMD
UWILD operations on vessels and an FPSO in the concession.
Jack up Rig legs and spud Cans
Free span inspections and corrections.
Six monthly inspection and cleaning of Fire water and Sea water intakes on Structures.

Construction:

Construction work on follow up of API Inspection reports.
Retro fit Anode installation.
Spool piece installations.
Riser, riser clamp and pipeline repair and installations as well as abandonment.
Smart flange installations 10”-20”
Installations of Conductor guide frames.
Recovery of Fire water and Sea water lift pumps.
Installation of new Fire water and sea water lift caissons.
Installation of sensitive vibration detection sensors on Jack up legs. (TAP sensors)
CGF abandonment and remedial work after structure failure.
Removal of the entire -50 fsw elevation on SNA
Jetty CP Rehabilitation.

Berth/Calm Buoy (Mooring Masters support)

Monthly Inspections on Calm Buoys which includes:
Buoy Hull and Subsea System Inspections – replace components and hardware as needed.
Floating hose and component inspections.
Hull anode and Subsea hose flange anodes install as needed.
Subsea hoses change-out.
Floating hoses change-out.
Installation and removal of Pig Receivers.
Electrical and Hydraulic cable remove and install.

Shipping:

Cleaning – inspection of sea chest. Blanking of overboard valve inlets for valve change out.
Removing of fouled objects from the Propellers/impellers of vessels.
UWILD Under ABS and BV.
Installation of cofferdams
Drill stops on kort nozzles.
Retrofit anode replacement.
Surfer/Alucat hull cleans to increase performance.
On Standby for emergencies / Unplanned events.
Chopper recovery 2016.
Local Fishing boats that sank after collision with vessels operating in the concession.
